Still no sign of it here in Belgium. How is this possible, England is just 50 clicks away from Belgium.

Resellers wait until they are out of stock of Ilfosol S before they start selling Ilfosol 3.
Atleast that's the situation in Greece, which means it might take a year or two before I will be able to buy it myself.

I'm afraid that's the case too here in Belgium. I hope they soon sell everything out so we can get the new stuff.

Ilfosol 3 is available in Istanbul. Bought a 500ml bottle recently and tried it with some Delta100. Negs look great. Rather contrasty I would say - which is OK for my diffuser enlarger - and very sharp. Let's see how they print tonight. I have no idea about its keeping properties yet.

Today I bought my very first bottle of Ilfosol 3.
My local dealer in Crete told me she got it 3-4 months ago.
I payed 10.50 euros for it.
Just for those who keep numbers.
Let's see what we're going to do with it. There is a ton of film waiting for months to be exposed to light.

I tried it with HP5+, Tri-X @250, @400 and orwo pan 100.
I poured the remaining half of the bottle down the toilet.
Now I have an 500cc empty air tight bottle. Great!

You use your toilet as a developing tank?
Now that's what I call a bathroom darkroom!

It is still white, not developed enough I think
I would like to hear your opinion on the developer when you tried it.
Obviously mine is terrible.

Maybe because you're developing shit?

Seriously, I've stayed with Ilfosol S for a few years as my main developer. I usually feed it "traditional grain" Ilford film from 25-800 asa and it works great. It supposed to be used more with slower film though, but I prefer the results with HP5+ to ID-11/D-76, even though I find the dev time with PanF+ a bit too fast.
Ilfosol 3 is supposed to give the same results, just have a longer life, which is a big plus when you don't have a steady flow of film to develop. So, I am not expecting any differences in the resulting image. If there is, that would be something to consider.

I simply did not like it and I am curious if that is something about the developer I purchased, may be it is a storage problem. I prefer ID11/D76 over ilfosol too.
In my case,
Details in black is poor
Highlights are controlled very well
Grain is mushed and looks like stain
Tonal gradation is fine but not superb
1+14 dilution's acutance is good but grain is much pronounced, distracting.
and I am certain Ilfosol 3 and Tri-X is a wrong combination.(35mm)

I agree with Ari. I used to use Ilfosol S and had no problems with it other than its useable life once opened. I changed to DD-X when I couldn't get any Ilfosol and I now use that for everything.

I have not tried Ilfosol 3 but I may if I can't get any DD-X.

An e-mail from Ilford a couple of years ago gave me the impression that Ilfosol 3 should be the same as S but with improved keeping properties.
