Maybe you don't use the higher dilution I use: I use that developer for sharp grain exclusively. And more for TMZ, as I use FX-39 II for TMY-2, but with both developers I get sharp visible grain with TMY-2.It is clear that we have different perceptions about what "fine grain" is in 35 mm at ISO 400. I think it is just "undetectable" for you, while for me is "not distracting". But if you can see grain with TMax 400 in TMax Dev with 120 film (6x6 and beyond) you must have the eyes of an eagle!!
