I have not used WordImperfect in decades!
I used Wordperfect for Windows for a while. It wasn't the same. With all the DOS variants, you had to imagine how the output would look. Much less creativity once you start using true-type fonts and seeing the actual layout.....

And I have never stopped using it, or updating it.
I dislike Word.
Based on what we have seen recently of "How to make film" videos from both Ilford and Eastman Kodak, I'm guessing that WordPerfect 4.2 was probably state of the art when some of the currently used control systems were first installed there!
And of course, many of the Ilford ULF offerings were once state of the art as well

Since I refuse to rent software I am using a 2008 version of Micro$oft Office including Word.
Use LibreOffice. It's free and secure.
I'd like to get a 50 foot roll of fp4 - the 3.5" wide stuff - but I expect it would cost too much. It'd be great for my postcard camera.

I would need to find a better example of a 3A, my grandfather's camera has seen better days. I do have 4 spools with backing paper from some c 1973 Verichrome. 122 Rules!

How about Appreciators of Fine Vintage Code? Always nice to add a positive spin to lousy and cheap.
I'm a cheap lousy bastard and even I bought new software. The point is moot since I am feeble with everything post XP operating system. 95% of what I do is poking at this darn tablet.
FWIW, fellow cheap bastards, Libre Office and OpenOffice are basically the same. The "Libre" was taken up because it has a special meaning in the open source community: free of any license restrictions other than "derivative works must also be this free" and entirely open source. Original OpenOffice had some non-open code, mainly in function libraries as far as I know; when these had all been replaced with open source alternatives, it became Libre Office.

Last night I tired the Libre Office spread sheet. Other than the usual learning curve for the different user interface, I liked it better than the OpenOffice program that I have been using. You have at least partially won a convert.

I still have a bunch of WordPerfect macros and mailmerge documents that I use from time to time, as well as ingrained keystroke command habits that I use all the time.
A reasonably priced fee to upgrade every two years or so is worth it to me - there is even built in compatibility with Open Document Format documents in the last couple of versions of WordPerfect.
And the Reveal Codes function is critical to my joy.

Glad to hear it, though I'd point out that any changes are more generational from ongoing development than they are specific to the switch from Open to Libre. The last version of OpenOffice, as far as I know, stopped development some time ago (six or seven years? ten?) but Libre Office is still in development and maintained. I don't get frequent updates because I get it with the install of my Ubuntu Linux, but if I were to install it from a Snap I'd probably get a newer version and then get upgrades from time to time.
I have one 616 and another 116 film cameras, I'm going after that 70mm unperforated.
