I have one of these and have a 15 watt pygmy bulb with a small Edison screw. I use a candle LED bulb in my study reading lamp and if it fits inside the safelight it should be fine. The bulb generate no heat around the envelope. Asda sell them, they have a colour temperature of 3000K.

Having thought about this I would be careful how close to your workbench you place this light. I suspect it will be considerably brighter than a standard 15 watt incandescent bulb.

You are right. A 15 watt LED provides a more powerful light compared to a incadescente lamp. I must thus find the good reference.
