I'm really confused by the number who voted for 5x7. Since Delta 100 is the only Ilford film one can't get in that size as a stock item, ...why would 5x7 need to be part of the special order period? ....

That's probably as much my fault as anything. I should have excluded from the poll those formats which are normally available. But I didn't do enough research. Sorry!

It's tempting to re-do the poll, but I don't want to run the subject into the ground. Part of the intent of starting this thread was to put a positive spin on the ULF film issue by showing where our interest lies and not delving into rumors of demise. To that end this is not meant to be a "falling sky" thread. There remains a diversity of formats for us to take advantage of. Once again, this is simply a show of hands to see how our interest is weighted. Take it with a grain of salt and save up your money.

Most of my sizes aren't in the list...

6.5x9cm
9x12cm (it's there, OK)
13x18cm
18x24cm
24x30cm (that's what I would fill my freezer with).

10x12" is not an alternative, there's too much trimming of big sheets to do, and the cutoffs are too small to be usable. 9.5x12" is even worse - 6mm one side, 5mm on the other. Ugh.

Simon,

It would be helpful if Ilford could give us some idea of the minimum order required to cut each format. I'd hate to get to the deadline and find that a format I want didn't meet the minimum by a box or two. By knowing ahead of time what the minimum order is, perhaps we could work amongst ourselves to insure that availability. There may be other factors involved besides simple numbers. But whatever guidance you can offer is appreciated.

Thanks,
Will

Dear Will,

Firstly, the full order schedule and listing is now on the Sponsors forum thread : As to minimum orders, it varies as we have costs to manufacture cutter guides for products that have not been made before : The board have stated that we should be 'flexible' in accepting lower orders than previously, but anything less than 10 x 25 per item will not be made for sure, and less than 20 we will have to think about and speak to management.

Hope this helps

Simon.

The 13x18cm size has been omitted, and I know it is quite popular. I wonder how many have voted for 5x7" when they actually meant 13x18cm.

I know I did - I use both sizes, but prefer 13x18cm since that also fits in my old plate cameras.

As noted in my earlier post in the thread, I voted 5x7" but use 13x18 cm, since all my holders are in that size.
