One more SFX200 question...

Does anyone know if the spool is 100% plastic
or
does it contain some metal?

Ray

It's the same spool Ilford uses for all their other emulsions, so plastic. You can tell this if you try to cut them down to 620 size with a pair of scissors. Why would it contain metal, out of curiosity?

No reason it need to!
I have never seen them, and it was a possibility I wanted to know about.

The real question is why I wanted to know!

I've heard that some plastics are allegedly not "light-tight" to infra-red radiation, which would, of course, be an issue with a plastic-bodied camera. Were you maybe thinking of this is relation to a plastic film spool?

:D

No, nothing so clever!

It's more fun as a mystery...

But OK-
It's just that I always bleep at air port security checks and I want to avoid that this time!

The spool is plastic, the same spool they use for all their 120 film.

OH NO, not another airport security check thread.

For most people, for most films, for most airports there are no problems in putting film through a carry-on screening machine.

YMMV

In the U.S. you can ask for a hand check of the film, they are supposed to provide it no questions asked. YMMV

But to sick with the original post, I've noticed no difference in the SFX spools vs. all other Ilford spools.

X-rays and IR films

OH NO, not another airport security check thread.

Unforunately, I am not so lucky as to be in that exclusive group of people...
In my case, if something doesn't go wrong,
then something's wrong!

:wink::D:surprised::confused:
