Dear Apugger,

It looks from the feedback from my post that we should at least reach the numbers we did last year.

So to book a place, just PM me personally with your home address and contact details ( e.mail will do ) as long as I have 25 bookings confirmed by one week today I will organise a super day for everyone ( hopefully ! ).

Please do not book any flights etc, until my confirmation one week today.
Also to confirm, it is entirely free of charge and we will also supply a buffet lunch.

Looking forward to welcoming you to ILFORD photo / HARMAN technology Limited at Mobberley.

I've sent a pm to Simon.
I am fairly new to monochrome photography and darkroom work and am enjoying it immensely. I will try to think of one or two sensible questions for the visit. Will we have a written test at the end?

Booked myself a place (well, 2) as well. Still "tentatively due to personal circumstances", but I hope I can make it!

Great. Perhaps people that know the local area could suggest local B&Bs, or is it Travelodge territory?

Tom.

There's a Travelodge on the last Services before exiting for Mobberley. It's very close to Ilford. I think Dave Miller and a couple of others stayed there so they may pitch in and give their views on its ambience

Another option would be travel inn in Altrincham. This hotel has just been refurbished so should be OK. Has the advantage of being a couple of minutes walk away from Altrincham town centre where there's a few decent ales available.

I only live up the road so I've not tried the hotel. However, I have tried all the local pubs and I'm quite willing to share my local knowledge :D

Altrincham is about 10 miles away from Ilford.

In addition to the suggestions already posted... I recall that some suggestions were also made for the 2006 edition of the factory tour, so you should be able to find something somewhere (...) in (there was a url link here which no longer exists) of last year's visit. (I still have to go through these pages, but I'm sure there was something.)

Edit: Interesting stuff regaring accomodations seem to start around (there was a url link here which no longer exists).

(Ole -if you happen to see this-, was "The Rose and Crown" any good?)

Absolutely. Nice room, good restaurant, decent pub.
In addition it's right in the middle of the old high street in Knutsford.
