Developed a roll. Xtol-R. Ilford rapid fix. No stain. Developed another roll. Home made plain fixer... Lots of stain. But after a bath in HCA, and a long soak in tepid water, no stain.

Home made plain fixer (non rapid) requires something like 20 minutes fixing... I’m sure that if you would have fixed for 20 minutes you would have no stains

You're probably right. I think I'll stick with rapid fix and it's shorter convenient times. :smile:

Longer fixing and washing clears out the stains. Even replacing the fixer can help.
