i guess that 1.93 of rodinal will never be enough!

Good to know you de-activated with to many water. The official minimum amount is 10ml according Agfa, but 5 ml is the real minimum for Rodinal for each 135-36 or 120 roll film so when using a 500 ml tank 500ml water + 20 ml Rodinal (1+25) or 10ml (1+50).

So if you're measuring out something < 5ml Rodinal concentrate there is something wrong.

@Andreas: I did extended tests for Foma on their Fomadon R09 developer, made by Calbe. Further the 1:1 test on R09 and Rodinal. Same film, same batch etc.
They changed their version of Fomadon R09 (NEW) last Photokina and are also filling up "Rodinal" from the Agfa/CMS Vaihingen-Enz plant in Germany.

The old Fomadon R09 (1+20 - 1+40) 2005/exp. 2007 died around end 2008 in a half full bottle.
My "reference" Agfa bottle of Rodinal (2003), well still working..........

Also reported on the internet (also here on APUG), failures of R09 after a few years of using. So I think you must be very carefull with these kind of statements.

Fortunately this Rodinal mistery is solved.

IME, albeit not all that much with Rodinal, this developer will develop a low-contrast image OK at 1:250 (the dilution you used), but the developing time needs to be much longer than six minutes. I developed my sheets at that dilution for an hour using minimal agitation, in order to get a very low contrast image.

I do not experiment on a 35mm film or on a 120 film: too many frames involved. Experiment, in my opinion, can be made on 4x5 film, developed one by one.
Despite mine looks like an experiment ( ) was not intended to be one!
