badly outdated color film. A nasty color cast combined with crossover curves.
I’d like to get some of the new packaging. I ordered some 120 HP5 from B&H right after Christmas and it was still the traditional packaging. I was a bit dissapointed.
I instantly know which one to pull out of a pocket or camera bag.
They are obviously going to get rid of the earlier stuff first...................
Right. But I assumed B&H moved more film than most.
I picked up an order for some 35mm FP4 from B&H in mid December and it was regular packaging too. I had even peeked at the fridge when I walked over to the film corner grab a battery for my friend's P&S and hadn't seen it in there either. Either they got some and ran out immediately or they still haven't put them out. I'll probably check again when I'm in that area next week.I’d like to get some of the new packaging. IME, this is it. There's a lot of times you'll see things for sale on there that have short expiration dates, film, chemicals, etc. I think they stockpile things, sometimes to the point that they go bad before they move. They're always p good about marking what's expiring and what's fresh, but I've been shopping there for years and it's definitely a pattern. And rarely the stuff going bad is popular films like Ilford (seems like the current sale is for Wolfen) but it would explain why they don't have new packaging yet. That's still possible. It depends on their order quantity / stocking policy. They may move more than most, and they also may order larger batches at a time than others.
These were loaded a couple of days ago from bulk, and will be used by the Olympus XA camera one can just see on the left. Camera in one pocket, a couple of rolls in the other pocket.

I see a Yashica hiding in there somewhereI'm still too lazy to put them away.
I'm trying to remember the last time I saw something labelled "Made in England ...."
The colours really do make me think of the 1940s and 1950s, so I like the choices they made.
Well, like it or not (and you're not required to), the point of it is to acknowledge their history and recreate a packaging motif from their past. It's how these films used to look. So why not?
