Thanks for the update and YEAH! This appears to be promising.

ann,

What is pure-silver? If it is another film photography list perhaps some of us would like
to sign up. If I am the last to hear, please let me in.

Hi John !
Pure Silver was founded, I think, by Tim Danieluk and for a long time hosted at tundraware.com.
Last year, Tim decided to stop this because it took him too much hassle and too few reward to continue.
I hope Tim has great time taking pictures, and printing....
The list then splitted and now we have two, one hosted at Pure-silver.org, the other at freelists.org.
I won't go further in the explanation, as the words when the split came out where a bit rude and painfull, but IMHO it is worth subscribing to the two flavor. One being more active than the other.
I'm sure you will find out yourself how to get into these !
Have a nice day !

Pure-silver.org is John Douglas' site. I always send people there because he keeps copies of manuals for Beseler Enlargers an other equipment on-line & free there....besides...he's a really nice guy! Check it out.

Pure-silver is one of the oldest and best photography list that I'm in. Very knowledgable people. And, you have Uncle Dick from New Zealand. If you can search the archives and do a search for Uncle Dick, he'll have you laughing so hard. Tim just wanted out of system's administration of this list. I don't blame him. Jim Brick is now the co-owner of the new list. freelists.org is where you can find it.

If I had to classify B&W film photography on the internet, there's Apug and B.A. (Before Apug) or pure-silver. I think there are a lot of folks on that list that are on apug. Its mostly chemicals, paper, film, enlarger discussion. 99% mostly civil.

I think nephew eric has just been removed from his dear uncle's will as Uncle Dick resides in Australia

Cheers

Isn't New Zealand a suburb of Australia? (lol)

I love the way Aussies and Kiwis fight, but woe be to the outsider who picks on either of them.
