I still have a bottle of Ilford Hardener. What is it chemically ? I might use it for some alt. processes.

Not sure about the Ilford product, but if you check the MSDS for the product, it will give you a hint what is in it. Kodak's hardener is primarily glutaraldehyde, which is useful in hardening gelatin sizing if you happen to be doing gum dichromate printing.
