From what you wrote, I am missing what it is about Galerie that is not giving you what you want. Is it cost?

If you can afford it, I would go back to Galerie, and attempt chemical manipulation to get what you want hue wise.

If not, I suggest trying Ilford's MGIV FB.

That's good news Simon, as it's my favorite paper as well.

...but to clarify, Grade 4 is gone, correct? I have not seen it for a very long time. Seems like Oriental grade 4 is gone as well.

Yes, G4 is not available any more for some time now. They have reduced it to G2+3.

Do you have any dates on when this happened?

Simon,

There is always the interesting question on when exactly should one consider using the Multigrade developer rather than PQ Universal...

Tom

Tom: I had exactly the same question! Simon, can you provide an answer about Gallerie ( or VC FB for that matter ) in Multigrade vs. Ilford PQ? Differences that YOU see, not what the product sheet states-if possible!!!

Thanks.

Ed

Ray, I don´t know it precisely, but I have the feeling that it was in 2008.
