I haven't shot any of the new "Plus" films as yet. FP-4, HP5 (along with Tri-X, of course) were my go to films and for the most part those were developed with ID-11"Plus" back then. FP-4 in particular had a marvelous tonal range. I bounced back and forth using the ID-11 Plus or Rodinal with it.
I suppose I'm too low on the totem pole to know why manufacturers get a product that works and works well and then change it. Sort of reminds me of going to the grocery store seeking out a certain product you've bought for months only to now find it's missing from the shelves in lieu of something else. We apparently have little choice in the matter.
