I haven't shot any of the new "Plus" films as yet. FP-4, HP5 (along with Tri-X, of course) were my go to films and for the most part those were developed with ID-11"Plus" back then. FP-4 in particular had a marvelous tonal range. I bounced back and forth using the ID-11 Plus or Rodinal with it.

I suppose I'm too low on the totem pole to know why manufacturers get a product that works and works well and then change it. Sort of reminds me of going to the grocery store seeking out a certain product you've bought for months only to now find it's missing from the shelves in lieu of something else. We apparently have little choice in the matter.

Dear ColColt,

Well in this case it was 1989 / 1990 when the films were upgraded so its stayed the same ( as PLUS ) for 25 years so we have hardly been exactly rapid in changing the products you liked, but the good thing is that if you liked the previous FP4 and HP5 films I guess you will like the FP4 + and HP5+ (PLUS) films just as much, I really hope so anyway.

I didn't realize it had been that long. I used both since 1978. I guess time slipped away from me. I used my fair share of Cibachrome chemistry and glossy papers as well. Nothing to date has equaled that. I have Cibachromes I made of the 1982 World's Fair that still look like I processed them yesterday.

A few scans of those Cibachrome prints.
