Dear Dinesh,

It was nothing more than a casual, glancing brush with a large object whilst my client was reaching for a glass of beer...

I'm actively proselytizing for B&W / analogue film photography. I got into 4x5 just recently, and being hooked as I now am I need to make sure other people get into this to counteract the mass exodus to digital

Of course I'm worried that it won't become economical for the chemical photo companies to stay in business. I hope we aren't yet that much of a niche market. I'm pleased that I can buy tons of different ilford (and kodak) paper, chemistry, toners, and other stuff at my local camera store though.

Simon sent me a PM about the status of Ilford products in Japan the other day, and that's very nice. Otherwise, no voices from the users can be really heard from the (very) Far East region...

The crisis that many users in Japan is facing is that there are only two products available for non-hardening fixer and HCA within the country. Ilford is one, obviously, which makes them, and the other one is, believe or not, Kodak. Fuji doesn't offer non-hardening fixer at all, so for the paper use, that's about all the choices we have now domestically. And I've been sticking with the Ilford products because they are really good products!
