Good news for me. Just so happens to coincide with my decision to become a 100% Ilford user. AND FP4 will be my primary film.

I read about this yesterday, and I think I would have preferred to use FP4 over HP5 when I chose a new film about four months ago. Maybe now I will revisit my choice.

Way to go! When I read prices being "improved", I assumed the usual corporate meaning of "raised", as in the annual notice from H.R. that "your health insurance contribution is being improved".

I note your point Simon that the "price reduction" in the U.S. is in effect a price alignment bringing FP4+ and HP5+ into line which you say it already is in the U.K.

However there is certainly no alignment as far as I can see in the U.K. between MGIV and MG Cooltone. The latter in the U.K. is considerably more expensive.

Can you say why no similar alignment between MGIV and MG Cooltone will take place in the U.K.

FP4+ sheet film and roll film in North America are already the same ( bar some small differences in individual retailers ) as HP5+

I really like the Cooltone RC, but the price differential means that almost no-one around here carries it. I hope this means that that will change.
