Hello Noel,

Oren Grad mentioned that Simon had polled the community back in 2007 for such a film. He said the response was lukewarm. Perhaps it is time to revisit the question. I can start another thread to drum up interest. I kinda wanted to hear from Simon about the feasibility and found him on this thread, although I realize the special order is not the right vehicle for getting this film.

Hi Larry

First I was unaware Simon had canvassed earlier.
And a coat on a thicker base should be possible though people have muttered about tabular coating being difficult.
It would need to be a standard product.
I'm amazed how much market penetration Impossible has achieved.
Nothing seems to be 'impossible' ...
Eg I can buy HP and FP in my local rail station Pharmacy last Sunday.

Dear Larry et al,

I have already said that DELTA 3200 and PAN F + as sheet film would not be an economic proposition to even coat never mind the required work in R&D for the requisite sheet film formulations of the two emulsions. Nothing has changed.

One parent roll is 193,750 sheets of 5"x4" 'give or take'.

Very Sorry.

Simon,
Thanks for the quick reply, sorry I missed that post of yours where you mentioned that it is not economically viable.

It's too bad, there are no fast 4x5 films. I know, push, push, push.

Best,

Larry

I would think that a 4x5 sheet of HP5+ that has been pushed to 1600 or even 3200 would look better than 35mm or 120 roll film pushed the same.

I guess I am going to have to give it a shot and see what happens.

Pioneer,
Let us know what you think. I'll go out and push some HP5+ as soon as my lightweight plastic TravelWide shows up.

I love Delta 3200 for high contrast lighting situations, like concerts in small clubs.

I am waiting on my 2015 order of 20x24 FP4 in the USA. Do you know if these have already been shipped to the distributors in the USA or when they will be shipped?

Have you contacted the distributor you bought it through? Maybe they forgot about you. My 11x14 showed up quite awhile ago.

I understand that there may be a price increase the next time Ilford does its regular special order program

May I ask what is your source of these news, Mr Fullam? Rumours or a written note from Harman Technology Ltd.?
