Ikoflex in the UK needs a CLA

I just bought a near mint Ic (originally sold by 'Fotohaus Kleinholz - Köln Hohe Strasse 112') and all I can find 'wrong' with it is that the underside of the viewing screen assembly needs cleaning. I need to find a very competent (ideally Ikoflex specialist) in the UK who can be trusted to undertake this task as part of a general CLA. Even if I had the confidence to clean the screen myself I would hesitate doing so, from fear of damaging the meter's pointer which looks as though it lies netween the upper screen and a fresnel lens below. I suppose it might well be dirt on the fresnel lens that can be seen as the focusing knob is turned to and fro.
(Assurance that the task is easily accomplished by an expert would be especially welcomed)

Do you Mean Newton and Ellis in Liverpool,?, I agree with you, they have done cla's and repairs to several of my classic's and never a problem. Richard

Yes I started writing Newton & Ellis & then couldn't remember which way around it was

I've not used them, I used to visit a customer who was next doorm but they seem to be the best for more vintage equipment.

For this camera on other MF/Classic Cameras forums fellow enthusiasts recommend Ed Trzoska of Leicester (0116 2674247)
A subsequent telephone conversation was enough to convince me of his wide experience of Ikoflex servicing/repair, stock of spare parts etc.
Incedentally closer critical inspection of my lc revealed oil on at least one shutter blade, specks of rust on the lower film roller and much dirt on the viewing screen and/or surface of the fresnel lens below it.

Some of the Ikoflex cameras have a viewing system that is made up of several layers. Although you can clean it yourself, if you don't feel comfortable taking things apart, it probably is best to leave it to a repairer.
