ihagee parvola 3x4 camera

I recently picked up this camera and instruction book. But I have been unsuccessful in finding out how to set the focus and what the lever that is located on the left front of the camera as you look at it does.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

The instruction book on M. Butkus' site explains this is a lever that must be depressed to allow for close focusing.
