If you were to be reincarnated as a camera, what would you be?

I'll start with Speed Graphic.

This should be an interesting thread... Please think carefully before you post.

I'd have to be a Nikon F3HP since it's my favorite 35mm camera.

hmmm...something kinda cheap and sloppy, not the most high-end camera in the world, yet well made, versatile and capable of producing nice results if you put the time and effort in...I would have to say a Graphic as well. I'd like to be a 2x3 Speed with an RH-8 back, I think...and I would like to be shot by a photojournalist every day, not put on the shelf as a curiosity.

If I had a second choice, it would be a Mamiya Press Super 23. Same basic idea as the 2x3 Speed Graphic, but a bit different.

Kalart Press Camera.

Stunningly beautiful, totally advanced for it's time, totally obsolete when made. A great piece of engineering, and less than 5% of them still work.

Kinda like the Fiat of cameras. That's me.

Exakta VX iia, because that was my first serious camera, and I am kind of old fashioned in a lot of ways.

4x5 film box with a hole poked into it, one sheet of film inside, a lens taped on the outside, and a cardboard flap for a shutter

Nikon FM2; simple, dependable, capable.

OM3

Not that I could demand the prices:sad:

A Kodak Instamatic, old ,cheap, obsolescent , and not much good.

OK. It would have to big and loveable. It would have to be able to take some punishment and then come back for more. And have a little bit of an attitude when the situation called for it. I dunni. How about a Fotoman 617.

8x10 Korona View by the Seebold Invisible Camera Company.

Pentax Spotmatic. Simple, efficient, and often overlooked (even in its "day"), but brilliant and reliable.

A Fed II.....

old, unreliable (everything grinds & moans in use), a knockoff of something nice, but spits out a good pic every now & again.

My wife happened by as I was posting this and said.."don't forget to mention your miniature format!" Sheesh...well at least she didn't make quips about having a Polaroid back that lets me finish in a minute!
