Hello,
perhaps interesting for all of you who are currently considering some bigger purchases of film, paper, chemistry and / or film photography equipment:
As one of multiple measures to support the economy during Covid-19 the German government has lowered the VAT from 19% to 16%. Until 31.12.2020.
And it looks like that most companies implement it in their pricing, lowering their prices by the same amount.
It isn't of course not so much of a difference if you are buying low volumes. But if your are currently in the market for buying bigger volumes like 50 or 100 rolls of film, bigger amounts of photo paper, or looking for high-quality equipment like film processors, enlargers, enlarging lenses, cameras etc. , then it can add up to a significant and attractive difference.

So if you want to use this chance you may have a look at German online film photography distributors like Fotoimpex, Brenner, Nordfoto etc.
And if you are looking for high-quality equipment, probably you will find here what you need:

Thanks for the posting, Henning, always professionally presented and excellently researched.

On another note, I am in the process of searching your posts on Photrio, trying to piece together a list of manufacturers. Hopefully it will be " the (Henning Serger) definitive guide to who makes what film"
If you have any information that might help, it would be gratefully appreciated.

Felim, let us get in contact via conversation and talk about the details.

Best regards,
Henning

I may actually benefit. I recently found out, that Kienzle is still making new enlargers.

I bought into large format in February and I've been trying to get a decent 4x5 to replace my LPL7700. But the market is empty in Germany and prices so high that it might be better to just buy a new one.

This would be the first time for me to finance a purchase and pay it off over a year, or two at most. I'm just about to finish my car loan, which I needed to get to my dark room at my brother's place...

Yes, Kienzle is not only still making enlargers, but they are very busy. Increasing demand over the last years.
Kaiser and Dunco are also producing new enlargers. But not for large format.
Kienzle enlargers are built like tanks, extremely robust. Engineering in the best "Made in Germany" sense. If you buy one, it will definitely outlive you, and can be used by your children when you have passed away. Which will hopefully far far away in the future........

Best regards,
Henning

Makes buying from Fotoimpex etc cheaper, thanks Henning.

Ian

Ian, yes.
I think it makes most sense if you have a bigger order for films, paper, chemistry. Or for purchases of sophisticated equipment like JOBO processors or Kaiser enlargers, Rodenstock enlarging lenses etc.
Or for beginners the ADOX enlarger.

Best regards,
Henning
