And I have never tried to sold one of them because I am a bad seller...

Of course, what I've spent on some of the items is a bit different than what's listed. The F I got for $75. Put about $120 into a meter overhaul, and continued to use it. So, $195 for the camera, instead of $347. The FT2 I'd probably take a hit on, if I tried to sell it after the meter recalibration is done. Bought the camera for $30, and am spending another $68 on it, getting the meter back into spec.

I have about 100 old cameras but most are not worth that much any longer. The ones I like best are my Rollei TLRs, my Fuji GSW690 II and my Bronicas. I would hate to sell any of them.

Today I've been thinking of just that, selling almost everything, just to clear it out and start with a new approach, a simplifier and more streamlined way of working. I'd keep my headless Durst 138 enlarger, finishing gear and plate burner but these cameras and lenses and "extras" are getting to be too much. You leave somethings around and the seals start to get mushy and lenses have to be use to keep them in operating order. See Grimes about cleaning and adjustments, 6 months is the limit I believe. It isn't healthy to collect and not make full use of anything.

Nothing close to their value to me. My kids can sell it all when I die if they want to. None of it was bought as an investment, all has been rode hard, but put away dry.

If you were to liquidate your entire collection of photography equipment, how much cash would you have in the end?)

If I had to liquidate my entire inventory of photographic equipment it might be because of some kind of financial or health disaster. So after paying my creditors, or whomever, I'd have at the end zero dollars (probably).

Actually, over the past couple of years or so I have been selling off stuff I don't use. My goal is one set of equipment per format (35mm, MF, LF). I'm just about there and have sold about $7k to $10k worth of equipment. Less (equipment)=more (shooting)...for me.

I've given away a bunch of film gear recently, and sold a bit to KEH for far less than I was hoping to get. Now all I have is a Rolleiflex 6006 6x6 SLR. I'm giving away my Epson V500 scanner to a friend tomorrow, as I'll basically be shooting color print film and having a local pro shop develop and scan film for me. I paid $500 for the Rollei and 80/2.8 lens, battery, and charger. Added a 2X tele-extender and another brand-new battery ($120 from B&H!). All worth $250 now, maybe. I regret selling my M6 and Nikkor 50/1.2AiS.

I will keep my cameras.....It is easy to add to what you have when they don't know what it is worth.

I used to think it was a real shame when I saw people selling off a grandfather's collection of cameras (or other items that have sentimental value). Then I realised, if they didn't, I wouldn't have ended up with the collection I have now. I like to let them know that a camera is going to a good home where it will be used again, even if it's over 100 years old.

Not even remotely enough for a D3X(and I don't know why I'd even want one anyways, my FE shoots better). I'm a thrift store shopper, at least half of my stuff I acquired that way, If i gotta fix it. I'll try fixing them myself anyways.

If I sold everything I probably wouldn't end up with enough cash to buy the lifetime worth of memories that my gear has given me and will continue to give me. That said, between 3 and 4 thousand USD.

But if, hypothetically speaking... around 500€/700$ if I'm lucky. I currently don't have that much stuff. It's only about one and a half year of GAS but the heap is steadily growing. Will probably be more than double in a year.

If I rooted out everything it might hit 15,000 but as I have made my living with photography for 35 years up to this point it has paid me more than it cost me.. which was a lot more than 15,000 not to mention film and paper. Question is how little could I have and still make the same money.
