When I made a plywood sink like yours I lined it with clear plastic sheet so it didn't leak.
I found shelf space very valuable, I put a long thin one along the top back edge of the sink.

Hi Paul
Good to see you have started, what is your location? I am in Adelaide South Australia

Regards

Yes Ted I still need to wet seal the ply. Will do racks once I work out wheres best, some stuff is best to wait till things are up and running.
Finished all the stud walls, done a bit of sheeting, hung a door, also been rearranging the garage so I can move.....and the Mrs car still fits...just.

Couple of additions:
Use a vented pocket door with black out material on one side. provides some airflow and no light around the frame.
Secondly, for big prints set up a temporary table in the garage outside your darkroom but be mindful of light entry areas or work at night (assuming your garage does not have windows.) You can also set up an area for steps after fixing your images like washing and toning. It doesn't all have to be done in the dark.

Thanks have a vent that I can open and shut and could make it light proof.
Have small storage area leading to the dark room I could make light proof. Made the darkroom able to open up to the store room if needed.
Sealed the sink, sheeted the walls......plenty more to do.
