If Fuji discontinue all E6 we will see New Ektachrome in 120, 4x5, 8x10 ?

.....would this be a possible deal ?
Some may say : " But - what is with my
belowed Velvia50 "
On the other hand Fuji may discontinue all sheed film on E6 ....
What are you thinking about?
Could we live with only Kodak Ektachrome100 in E6 but in all formats to accaptable pricing ?
To all who might have thoughts like :
"This is science fiction with E6" I have to state - please have a clear view to Fuji ! What is Fuji doing else THAN killing all of their films?
I didn't miss Fuji films in the 80th / 90th.
During the time Fuji established new E6
emulsions including New Velvia50 I began to love it too.
And now back to the roots into the save
harbour of Kodak E6 brands ?
Because - if Fuji comes to its final end with price racing and celebrating wild discontinue orgies - we definitifly can count to min.a second Ektachrome in ISO64.
And this would possible replace velvia films.

Would this situation not be better and more clear than now ?

All wishes to E6 in concern of this / or in opposite direction are welcome ...

I remember reading an interview of somebody from Kodak Alaris who said that they are seeing a nice steady growth of film sales last year and that if the new Ekatchrome is successful and people buy it they leave the door open to expanding it to medium and large format.
Probably the issues Kodak has been having with backing paper for 120 have put them off cutting it up into 120 yet.

me too - I got a 120 Ektachrome100 back from developing yesterday. Altough it was expired I love these colors.

I don't plan to shoot color film in any format again. I will continue to shoot black and white film for the foreseeable future.

Let's just be very blunt and to the point with one thing here. Skip the hysteria over Kodak and concentrate on what Fujifilm is doing.
In E6, Fujifilm is the major player. Kodak doesn't even rate a mention on the radar. Ektachrome is still seen as a non-event by many traditional dyed-in-the-wool consumers of E6 products.

Mid-last year there were murmurings through two distributors that Fuji was working on an exit from analogue products in 2020. I am keeping my ear to the ground with my own distributor. If they do exit, that will cause a collapse of E6 availability, in particular the labs and the chemicals they use. For some time -- a few years now, a trend has been seen for labs to scale down processing availability or cease processing of E6 completely. For E6 to be worthwhile, a large amount of the product must be run through the machinery to keep it going; the process is filthy. The inescapable fact is E6 is diminishing continuously in take-up and processing availability. We should collectively not be holding our breath for Kodak as any sort of saviour for the market, but getting cracking with whatever other E6 materials are available to keep the machines turning. If we don't, we have only ourselves to blame, not the film manufacturers.

But you obviously didn't read and comprehend what he said. He is not using the word "hearsay". He is using the word "heresy". It is a different word with a different meaning, which he used correctly.

No, it isn't.

But as I said years ago, it has one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel. It DID have BOTH feet on a banana peel until the Ektachrome likely-comeback. Assuming that happens at least it may have one foot on solid ground again.

Ok, shaky ground maybe. Shaky, soft, shifting ground. But not a banana peel.

So faberryman I must state you are a Lucky Guy at all - because you will have no problems to get the stuff you'll need.
Just have a look to Ilford films.
Probably / sure you do so, also Foma films are fairly well equiped with different formats in sheed films this days.
By the time - does Ilford still have the deal to photographers - to give Ilford a list of wishes on special formats in sheed films to the end of a year?
And Ilford announced to deliver such special formats in the year after if the amound is high enough from demand?

Quite ironic, when someone whose mother tongue appears to be American, makes that claim to someone, who speaks English as a second language. It's not hearsay when I tell you that I do call that famous city on the US East coast 'New York'. The locals may not understand which place I'm talking about...

But it is a sign of good character that you're not familiar with the concept of heresy!
