Identify Rolleiflex Model

Hi Everyone .. I'm new here. I have a Rolleiflex camera that I am having trouble identifying the exact model and approximate age.

If I'm posting in the wrong place, my apologies. Where should I be? Thanks!

You can tell by the serial number - here's a good site.

With out looking up the serial number, I'd say it's likely an Automat 3 or 4 built after 1945.

It appears to be an Automat Model 4 made between 1951 and 1954. This, to my mind, a very fine Rollei model. I has a simiar camera in the late 1950's through the early 1970's and it was a workhorse. I now have a slightly newer model but do wish I had this model instead.

I had this model. It is a great model because it costs not so much, it is very lightweight, and produces excellent sharp images.

This I believe without EVS, which is good.

Xenar is capable of producing sharp and contrast negatives when stopped down a bit.

Recently I sold one on ebay (with Tessar lens) for 160€, but security switch on shutter button was missing. I would say up to 200€ is ok to pay.

It's a sweet camera. I own a slightly later serial number camera (I think mine dates to around 1951) with a Tessar type lens and it does a great job. No EVS coupling. The original screen is dim but very usable outdoors. Value will mostly be due to condition. I think they are mostly valued as user cameras.
