... until my fridge is (more) empty.

attachment.php

I bought me a 2nd hand fridge, to replace my old (smaller) freezer. I filled it up today with almost all my film.

It's about 750 films in there in all sizes, types and formats. I'm compiling a list of all the films to see what I've got/forgotten.

Indeed, but one that can be cured over time and with some fine cameras

I bought several expired films that were discounted over the last few years from Calumet, etc.
So let's burn some film this summer!!

(I'll post the list with all the films here later)

You have a serious problem, amigo!

No he is appropriately well stocked. He really is working hard to keep the film from the hoarders.

That looks like my film (and paper) fridge. But I don't have 750 rolls - maybe a third of that.

I have about the same amount of film as you Bert in a chest freezer in the basement of my house I bought second about ten years ago to keep my wife off my back about filling the kitchen freezer with film, it's all colour print and slide film I have no black and white, I only buy that a few rolls at a time occasionally

I have a 14 cubic foot chest freezer stuffed full of film, and no wife to bitch about it. My significant other doesn't even care, in fact she encourages me to shoot more.

hi bert from holland,
i had 4, may 5 metro shelving units full of sheet + roll film and boxes + sleeves of paper.
and a small fridge with film as well .. most of it is shot now,
so there is hope !
you just need to always have a camera with you
always keep your eyes open for photographic moments ( even have photographic dreams )
and you wont' need another fridge, and soon you will need more film

best of luck !

Hi John, I couldn't agree more!

I always carry a simple shooter like a Olympus XA2 or Olympus Mju II in my pocket. If possible I bring a very small photo bag with a small camera like my Pen F, Leica M7, Nikon S2 or Nikon Fm3a with 45 mm pancake lens - or a pinhole camera naturally. And if I think I might pass a nice location during my (work) travels or expect some extra spare time, I'll bring a large bag with heavier cameras like my Mamiya C330f, Bronica SQ-B, Nikon F5 or Hasselblad SWC.

I'm glad that my health is (almost) restored and my work load is settling down, so I can return to my peaceful hobby again - roaming around shooting film and retreat into my darkroom for some days and start printing again. My motto still:
"Have fun and catch that light beam"

I promised myself to shoot at least one shelf of the fridge before Autumn and develop at least half of that myself. I'm gonna plan 2 or 3 weekends to go out and shoot my old Russian friend, the FKD plate camera (18x24 cm). I also want to make my first lith print this Summer.

And I'm finally planning to finish my darkroom before the 1st of September this year - after having that put on hold for 2 years now. The major part is done, like placing the DeVere 8x10" and DeVere 5x4" enlargers. But I still need to fix the electra, lamps, chemical storage, paper safe, clear out too much stored goods, etc.

I also want to sort through all the cameras and lenses I have this year, to see what will stay and what will go. I don't mind many cameras but I can't shoot all and there are too many double systems, like Rolleiflex T1 vs. Mamiya C330f, like Rolleiflex SL66 vs. Bronica SQ-B, like Polaroid SX-70 vs. Polaroid SLR 680 and many, many 35 mm cameras, etc. I'm gonna shoot many test films to see what cameras and lenses I like best. The rest might have to find a happy home somewhere else through APUG before the end of the year.

This will be a good year !

I am awfully glad I bought a chest freezer for the garage and filled it with film and paper when I did. I saved a lot of money because the prices started going way up right after I did. A couple hundred rolls of Acros at 2.39 a roll, some hundreds of sheets of 8x10 tmax 400 at less than 4 dollars a sheet. Many boxes of Ilford warm tone 11x14 much cheaper. My wife was seriously irritated by my having over taken the freezer she like for food. Now I have my own and keep it at about 15 below zero.

Running low on freezer film can result in a catastrophic change to the world order, like the wife putting a frozen turkey in there.

In my household we do not have problems like that. Film comes first, second and third.

Me too. I've got some film (loaded in a mini dorm-sized freezer) that I got very cheap when the pros were emptying their fridges to go digital including a stash of Plus-X in both 120 and bulk rolls, Neopan 100SS, Agfa APX100, and Neopan 400. Paid only about $1-2 a roll for most of it and maybe $15-20 per bulk roll. Am going through it fast though...

When Jessops in the U.K. used to have photographic shops in most towns I used to go to the one in Leamington Spa where they were very diligent and kept their film in a fridge. The only problem was that they never had as big a range of film or as much as the OP :D

Did OP kept his promise?
I don't think so. Some people are collecting and not using cameras. Some are doing the same with film.

Well, not completely, for my father became sick for several months and he died in December. But I started shooting again a few months ago and have shot about 40 films so that's a good start.
