I just took delivery of my third Canon F-1 (second New F-1). Ever since my finder got damaged (still works) on the other one I've been looking for an AE finder in good condition, but they are really expensive compared to buying a body and finder together. I then thought I also wanted an eye level finder, to slim the camera a bit, but they are also expensive. I got lucky earlier this week and found another New F-1, described as in "near mint" condition, on ebay. It came with the AE finder and an additional eye level finder, the 28-85 f4 zoom, and a power winder. It turned out to be as described, near mint. As a bonus to getting the finders I've now got a spare body, if anything should ever happen to either of them. The New F-1 is my all time favorite camera, I might have an addiction here...

Left is my old one with the new eye level finder fitted, right is the new one. The "old" one is from 1994 if I recall correctly, the "new" one from 1982.

Nothing really, except the metal is cracked. It’s a water incursion waiting to happen. I do use the camera in moist or wet conditions sometimes.

If the crack in the housing is smooth, you should be able to seal it, preferably from the inside.

Is this an AE finder?

I've been using Canon since the 1970s. My present film cameras are two new F-1n's. I have four of the five Canon finders to swap around depending on what I'm shooting. The eye level FN and the AE finder FN are the two I use most. The speed finder FN is heavy and I don't find it to be of much advantage over the other two. For certain applications, I use my waist-level finder FN-6X. When looking to purchase the best quality Canon film products I always shop Japan dealers.
