The radio was playing Erasure's "old" hit, and my thoughts wandered off to...cameras. How strange!
Or rather one specific camera (out of my oversized "collection" of 40-50 cameras, from Minox 35 ML to RB67), the lovable Yashicaflex S.
The problems began when I noticed that the shutter speeds and focusing were off, so I took it to service. Being an old Yashica, the leatherette cracked and fell off as the repairman had to open up the front parts.
With it's good looks gone, I ended up painting the front green (yes, a nice colour !), but in the process some of the small washers fell out, pushing the focusing-issue back to square one. And later I dropped it on the floor, causing the nameplate / low light metering to malfunction.
Yes, you can fix all that, but the reason I'm not willing to put any more money into this "project" is the very dark finder. The camera is useless outdoors, it would need a brightscreen of some sort, but for now: back to the closet. What do You think I should do?
