To be fair to RattyMouse, I did as he suggested and Googled "Kodak and Cryptocurrency scam" and found two articles straightaway which seemed to have legitimate sources.
It depends on how you define "scam" I suppose. It certainly isn't in the legal sense an illegal confidence trick but it may not be a sensible investment in terms of a rate of return. It would appear that Kodak is diversifying into strange areas. It has had an immediate beneficial effect on its stock but it does smack of desperation and the need to latch on to what may be a "Bitcoin" bubble.
It certainly doesn't give me faith in Kodak.

I read a lot about Kodak and the new KodakCoin but I read nothing about a scam.
Your post is the only reference to scam that I find.
I think there may be some personal animosity toward Kodak being voiced.

Kodak is counting on the complete stupidity of the public for them to fall for their scam.

Never underestimate the stupidity of the public. It's probably fair to say that worked very well for Trump in the last election.
P. T. Barnum of Circus fame, made the famous quote, "There's a Sucker born every minute". Or maybe I'm mistaken and it was a quote from D. J. Trump instead? Either way there is plenty of truth in that quote. My father always said, "If it sounds to good to be true then you better believe it is to good to be true". Unfortunately far to many folks find that out far to late. JohnWNever underestimate the stupidity of the public. It's probably fair to say that worked very well for Trump in the last election.

We're off topic (and in violation of the rules) with this line of 'discussion' here. Head on over to the Soap Box and you'll see that I've been referring to the leader of Occupy White House as "Barnum" for close to two years.P. T. The option I chose: switch to Ilford Delta 400.And your other options are??
Sal, I don't even want to talk about Mr.Barnum so I'm dropping it. I'd much rather talk about a happier topic like the extinction of film. Well, less depressing anyway. Scarey, but more pleasant. I have said it before and tthat is that TMY2 is the best 400 speed B&W film produced, maybe ever produced, but I'll be using HP5+, which I love in Xtol replenished until the fly is out of the oinment. Note that, by my calculation, the requirement was closer to one every 20 seconds than "every minute."
Sure. You can certainly buy any other film you would like to use. But how do you get any of your investment back on your TMY400 without contacting Kodak? The option I chose: switch to Ilford Delta 400.
You didnt look too hard. Kodak has come out with a bitcoin mining piece of hardware that is a total scam. There are articles all over the web. Just search and find them.

Just to be clear. I was talking about the KodakCoin part of the process, not the KashMiner, which I had not seen before this.
I think the phrase "truly astonishing" springs to mind. If you had told me that Kodak would be involved in this kind of business even a couple of years ago I'd have dismissed it as much more fanciful than restarting Kodachrome

I've made this comment before in threads discussing the backing paper issue, but here goes again....TMY2 is the best 400 speed B&W film produced, maybe ever produced, but I'll be using HP5+...

I agree about TMY-2. Perhaps it's time to embrace 4x5. No backing paper, larger image area and camera movement availability.
