Well I've run into my first problem already. It's worked great for the first four rolls I put through it, but when I loaded the fifth today the counter only reset to 11. I'm hoping I don't have to trash the roll of film that's in the camera. I guess it's back to the camera repairman on thursday

I don't understand. My counter resets to 1. Do you mean you exposed 11 frames and then the film wound off?
Beautiful dog and photo of dog. My Siberian Husky lived 17 years and I haven't been able to replace her since she died 20 years ago.

I think you will see the failure of the parallax correction is in the background. The closer you get the more different the perspective will be from top lens to bottom regardless of how you change the framing.

No I mean I loaded the film and instead of having the counter reset to 1, it went to frame 11.

Do you have a changing bag so that you can take the film out in darkness and then reload the camera in daylight?

yes - I'm hoping that it will keep shooting after the 12 frame, but we'll see what happens.

It will keep shooting and the advance arm will still cock the shutter but it won't have an automatic stop at the next frame after 12. After 12 you can turn the crank to about 8 o'clock as you look at that side of the camera, then reverse the direction of the crank back to the top and the film will be advanced and the shutter cocked and you will only need to keep count of the last 10 exposures.

My old friend died this weekend. Haven't known him (her) since birth but we are old friends that go way back to when Ektachrome was only three.

Anyone know of a good Rollei hospital where triage can be performed? Then again it might be time to let it die and rest in peace on the shelf protected behind glass like Sleeping Beauty. Don't fret, it won't end up in a garage sale for $2 as long as I'm around.

The film advance cranks the film but the shutter does not cock. It's never had a CLA or been repaired before. SN 1.2million w/3.5 Xenar.

Suggestions? I guess I have to investigate value before I can determine repair investment.

I haven't found a trustworthy repairman in the Dallas/Fort Worth big city yet even though I've been looking since '03. I have an F3 in a shop now that has had it since Christmas and asked for more money three times. Any North American shop with a decent Rollei reputation should do.

He did a bang-up job fixing up my old Rollei New Standard last year, fast work and a fair price. It needed both shutter and film transport work, and it works like new now.
