I just got a new M6

Sup Leica users. I just got a black m6 classic with a 90mm teleelmarit and placed an order for the leicatime case with the m6 cutout and a black soft shutter release. It's my new street setup. I'll post pics as soon as I process rolls!!!

I have owned an M6 for several years. For it I have a number of lenses. During the past couple of years, I have been caught up in the digital era. Just recently, I have been familiarizing myself with the M6 and have begun to work with it. I have shot several rolls of Fujifilm 200 and have learned how I can get it processed. However, I have had the images put on a CD. I have just begun to learn about PhotoShop. I will have to admit that I never worked in the darkroom and will never do so. For many years, photography has been my driving interest. I have a particular love for my Leica. I am an old guy, and my photography helps to keep me going. I plan to post some photos made with my M6 on this group.

I look forward to seeing your images. i have an M6 and four M4s. I have a darkroom, but i still use a scanner to get them onto the internets. the sharpness of the glass is one of the many features that draws me to the leicas...

With proper exposure there is not much need for photoshop with a film Leica, at least that has been my experience. When I want to blow up and image I use a professional lab.

Waddaya mean you got an M6 classic? I thought that was the most recent camera the world ever made...

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do mine. I can't believe I waited for so long to buy one. Recently got a small hand grip for it as well. That makes a nice improvement to it, especially when you don't use a strap on it. Like the supermodel who said she wouldn't get out of bed for less than so many thousand, I am realising more n more that it really is worthwhile getting your hands onto a few bits of top-quality gear rather than having a full kit of mediocre equipment. When you have been shooting for a few decades the negatives and slides really pile up. It makes you strive to be more judicious with your trigger finger than you used to be.

Takes a while to get good at loading film though. I still miss now and then, but always watch the rewind knob anyway, so no "lost" images yet.

Only two criticisms I have for the M6 is A:the annoying red exposure arrow when shooting at night time. I know you can pul out the batteries, but who wants to be doing that in dark, rough outdoor environments? Not me, thanks. And B: the tripod mounting is a bit of a compromise. Yeah I know they are not designed to be landscape cameras, but a more solid base would be nice. The RF sure is good for night time exposures though, allowing you to read the image during exposure. For example. if a car apppears to be moving into the scene you can watch it approach and close the shutter just before it gets there, Same for aircraft that you don't want in your star trail image. Can't do much about those annoying iridium satellites tho.

Well worth the money, no matter what anyone says. Something like the M6 can last for decades. The world has so much junk cameras in it. I visited a friend's camera shop earlier this year. He said they dumped a whole skip bin full of useless camera gear recently. It all worked still, but noone wanted to buy it and they did not have room to keep it either. If only people thought more about buying quality and looking after it better, the world would not have such a problem with toxic landfill sites.
