You know, that format for Instamatics from the 60s-70s...crappy cameras, crappy photos...its a wonder I satyed interested in photography at all, considering how many times I was disappointed by what I shot as a kid...

I don't photograph anything that won't stand still long enough for me to photograph it. If a stand of Aspens stands still long enough in one place, then they are fair game for lens fodder.

I dont do .... rice pudding - ever since Miss BArnett the dinner lady force fed me until I vomitted. I am so scarred.

Seriously, other than porn, I dont not do anything especially if it has been done before. Trying to emulate a favourite influence is a very valuable method of finding your own way.

I don't do a lot of things well, I try to do well, so I do do everything, mostly not well though .... One thing however which I wouldn't do, even if I did do and do it well, is doing digital ...

I don't do self-restrictions based on other peoples opinions of what is cliche but photograph what I feel like photographing when I see it.

I don't do imitations of other peoples work but rather photograph what I feel like photographing when I see it.

I don't do:
1. Naked children over 2 years old.
2. Macro Shots
3. Infrared
4. Cross processing

Border line stuff, I still do but should probably think about:
I have done some weddings and would do another if someone poor enough needed it done.
Use red filters, even in conjuction with a polarizer.
Use a Softar for some of the older members of the family.
I'm still a sucker for pretty sunsets, even though I've never taken a good one.

The trouble is that the bar keeps moving...

As a kid I would have said, "I don't do fish, pea soup or internal organs of animals of any kind" That's been whittled away to the organ meat barrier.

Until recently I would have said, No way will I ever eat raw fish (sushi). Now when my fisherman coworkers ask where I'm going for lunch, I reply, "the Bait Shop"...

I wonder what's next?

Oh, this thread was about photography?!

Underwater photos...If I'm diving, I want to see and exprience that magic for myself. And have you seen how much that gear costs?!!!

I've got very little I won't do - I did one wedding, assisted at a second, and there won't be a third. I also won't photograph any event (for hire, and especially for friends) for the same reason as someone else mentioned here - invariably, something will go wrong that will become inexcusable and wreck the friendship. Otherwise, I'll photograph anything if I find it visually interesting, although most of what I photograph are places and nudes.

I dont do photographs that arent moving to me. no matter what it is. Ill shoot it, given it inspires me.

I like cliche's as they are a challenge. I did the best calla lilly image ever! and I am proud of it...

come to think about it: the question might be: what is not a cliche??

I'd love to make the perfect pepper - the perfect sunset..

I never do candids.
Well,except for a few I took of my wife,but that's different-I've actually taken so many candids of her that she now EXPECTS it!
But other than that,I will NEVER do them-too many people take offense.

Photography is a culture or "do's" in which the government already inputs way too many "don'ts" leaving me with too many of "what can I do", "where can I do it's" and "can it be done's" to self impose the "do nots" upon myself. Now I will impose a few of the doughnuts upon myself from time to time....
