I should have start this thread in lounge.
I mean I use metol as developer, so I belong to that group...

How do you use your metol baachitraka ? Metol best with borax...

Barry Thornton 2 Bath.

I was reading Focal Encyclopaedia of Photography(recommended read) esp., the chemicals. So, I thought of asking what group that you guys belong to.

Aha... So, I think we might also start another, more exotic group like who is using glycin. 85 % of photographers are using metol in this or another form, so this group will be very large, but glycin is rare.
But I have no intention to hijack your thread. You might want to try borax, simply replace sodium metaborate with it. I am sure you will see the difference.

I use Metol, in D23 diluted 1+3 and Dektol diluted 1+2.

As already stated, this must be a rather high percentage of analog photographers.

I tend to be in the Phenidone group as it's used in my two main developers Pyrocat HD and Ilford ID-78 (a warm tone paper developer).

Despite that I have a few kilos of Metol :D

Ian

I go both ways, D-23 for (almost) all my film; phenidone-based paper developer. I feel most strongly about D-23, so I guess I lean towards the metol group

I ID one less than soisant neuf...
