Is this you too?

USPS delivers the camera that I bid on, won the bid, paid for, and waited waited waited... for days. Now my 1977 vintage Nikon F2 arrives after dark. I load batteries, put on my AS finder, load film, attach the shoulder strap... and then walk around the house trying to take pictures of shit. Too dark. I give up and recognize I can't go out with my camera until daylight tomorrow. But I don't take the camera off my body. I'm still walking around the house with it and will until bed time. I may sleep with this new machine.

Am I a total dork or what?

Not a dork at all. As long as you weren't walking around with it whilst naked - that would be a bit weird, tbh.

Many cameras are things of beauty, wonderfully engineered and made to enjoy. So, enjoy.

I remember when I got my Rollei SL2000F in the early 1980s. It was also dark. So I took it outside on a tripod and explored its long exposure times. It would go up to 16 seconds on auto. That was pretty amazing at the time.

No.
I think that makes you a nerd.
But if that isn't splitting hairs, I don't know what is.

No, you are better than a dork. If you had bought a Canon then you would have been a complete dork.

If Canon makes you a complete dork, where does Olympus leave you?

And if had it been a Hasselblad, you'd be an integral, ultimate dork.

At least they delivered it.

USPS delivered me my package that I sent off two days ago. When I brought it back they said 'oops'. That's all. Hello? Guys?

Cameras are fun, carry it around, why not? Get joy where you can find it.
