I am a bit miffed, please read!

I just returned home, from my shipping for the day and was informed, by my wife, which many of you have talked to on the phone....That someone called to order, or inquire about ordering an 8x10 screen....

What makes me a bit irritated, is we have always published on our website, we do not do grids on screens at this time and we have made available the grid templates on our website, that are FREE for download, in addition to instructions on how to use them...

This individual, told my wife, we must be dumb! because as a person that shoots buildings and such, that it has to be more preceise than this and there was no way you can trace a grid on the glass and have it be accurate, I don't know that this individual is a member here, but I find it very disturbing that someone called and then proceeded to be abusive to my wife, in addition to telling us we are dumb and don't know what we are doing!

As many of you know, I am currently working on being able to offer grids on the glass, but as with our screens, I refuse to put out a product until I am happy with it, we have published on our website, that we don't do grids, but have made an alternative available...

But please until such time as I publish a press release that we have perfected the gridding process, don't call or email me and be abusive, don't call my wife and tell her she is dumb, that is uncalled for, and downright rude, we do everything within our power to ensure we are delivering a product that meets the needs of the Large Format Community, I don't put anything out that I would not use myself, hence the gridding has not been perfected to my specifications yet...

I am not trying to direct this to anyone in particular, but find it very disturbing that my wife has to put up with abuse, that is not right.

By the way, To mark a 6x7 area on my SSGG, I used very narrow Letraline ruling tape that is left over from my pre-computer board artist days. It works fantastic

You are in a retail business. You deal with people on a daily basis. I am sure you know that not everyone is nice and that many people are just plain assholes from top to bottom. You are going to run into these folks. It is a nature of the retail business. SInce your wife sometimes answers the phone she will have to deal with it as well. It is not right but it happens. Brush it off. Since you do not know the guy's name it is even less important.

I wonder how that person deals with tolerances in film sizes? Many of my shots show clearly that the film has been a little bit crooked in the holder. If the fit were perfect, like with an undersize 13x18cm film in an oversize 5x7" holder, it would be very difficult to load the film

I'm pretty confident that I can draw a pretty decent grid with a T-square and a pencil and have in fact done so. Indeed, some people get into photography, because they can't draw, but you don't have to be Vermeer to draw a grid on a groundglass.

I have called a hell of alot of companies in my life, looking for certain products, when I asked, if they said no we don't do that, I always say thanks and go to the next company, but being abusive is not needed..

Again, I am sorry, just had to vent a bit, as with many of you, I am sure, if you came home to a wife, who was a bit upset, it would get ya real quick.

I talked with your wife, I presume, not too long ago when I ordered a 4x5 gg. She was nothing but helpful, and when I get the glass I will not be put off by having to make my own grid or the cigarette smell! What is wrong with people today? If these things are what bother you, you should count your blessings because these issues are smaller than the minutea(?) that begins to piss me off like the lack of manners on the roads of New Mexico!
