Have not run into this before. New camera with helicoid marked in meters. Has Hyperfocal scale that I do not understand. Can you help me?

The scale simply shows the Near distance 'in focus' at each aperture setting.
 
If you focus to the "32" mark and set your aperture to f/32, the range of acceptable focus will be from infinity to an unspecified close distance (smaller than the set distance).
 
What size film- 6x9? 6x12?

Looks to me that your tick marks are pretty close for 6x12 on this calculator.

Assuming that the lens is at infiinity when when set to the tick mark above the meter scale, I would say that you align the mark for y our aperture at this same tick mark and get focus from infinity to a place closer than the tick mark. And that this point, the close focus point on the scale, is what is missing?

The marks are just what you set to get the largest focus range for a given aperture. They are the thin lines.The fat lines are corresponding to the numerical focus markings in meters. Maybe you want to make them a different color for readability. Cool camera.

I would spend some time with a hyperfocal calculator and compare it to your markings. A pattern might emerge. Be aware that 'circle of confusion' leads to different distances and that hyperfocal is not some absolute number for each combination of film size and lens and aperture.

And what does the maker, or the developer of the file used for printing, have to say? The whole camera looks well designed so I bet that there is some sort of logic behind the marks.

My camera was built by Custom Camera Building and they have given me ranges via the Hyperfocal scale for the setting. F/8-hyperfocal is 5.8 M-closest focus 2.9M. Is one example.
This particular camera was an earlier prototype. There current models have some changes. But this one is the same as my 6x17 from CCB and has everything I need.
