Would it be possible to dilute hypercat in tea and use it as pc tea or pq tea?
would it make an alternative to the carbonate in the second bath?

just wandering....

from my searches, there is a tendency to longuish times... is this common? is tea not suitable as an alkali to catechol?

i´m looking for a practical one shot with high acutance but the ability to mask grain with some stain... maybe hypercat would be the closest...

i looked at dixactol type also but i would have to buy glycin

TEA provides a much lower pH than what is needed by Catechol at the dilutions Hypercat is used. If you insist upon using TEA as the alkali for Hypercat for some reason, try dilution 1:10 or stronger to reduce the development time.
