Instead of peroxide, I'd suggest exploring intensification of the dye image through (repeated) redevelopment.

It's presented as a quote. Who said this? And since it's CN, how much of a problem is an increase in fog? I'm not convinced it's not an option. Give it a try before rejecting it.

Or even simpler - just try prolonged development. That definitely works quite well.

Film push (underexpose and overdevelop) gives a nice boost on contrast and saturation. It is something easy to try.
