Has anybody read Huw Finney's article in the December issue of Electronics World magazine? In it he describes how he built his LED enlarger light source;

Dead Link Removed

What did you think of the article? Did he use the Blue Lumileds, or Royal Blue ones? Is it a design a complete novice like me (with the help of some severe tech-head friends) could pull off?

Nobody in these parts carries the magazine and it'll cost quite a bit to get one here, so I'm looking for feedback on it. Thanks.

The article really didn't give enough info for me to make the head. I am sure with a bit of research I could pull it off, but it sure wasn't a full set of plans.

I have communicated with HUW before and based upon our conversations it would appear that he would be happy to share his knowledge of the construction details with you...at least that was my impression.

Thanks guys - looks like I can skip ordering the article as his site holds enough info for a running start...if I decide to give it a shot. Tempting idea, isn't it?

Just for reference

I have had a few email exchanges with Hew regarding the head design and his estimate is that it will cost approx £300 for an experienced DIYer to build.
