hi dmr

who knows maybe the kamra-e-faoree DID pre-date the polaroid camera !
it certainly was more labor intensive!

whenever i see afghan cameras all i can do is smile

i have wanted to build one for a long time but haven't
instead i read blogs, and threads and watch videos

not sure if you have seen joe vancleave's work?
(there was a url link here which no longer exists)
the afghan camera project is pretty amazing !

One reason this caught my eye was that I remember when I was 8 or so and visiting Tijuana I had my photo taken on a horse on a streetcorner and since I got into photography years later I always wondered what kind of a camera it was. I remember it was huge and on a tripod or stand. The photographer appeared to process or rinse it in a bucket. IIRC it was a very ordinary 4x5 or so B&W glossy print.
