Hello

Lacking few grams of silver nitrate to make some HT2 I thought about trying HT1. I'm mostly interested in testing if my films are adequately washed.

I usually process 1 135 film in a Jobo 1520 tank and use 6 water (500ml) changes. Each water change gets some generous agitation at the beginning and then is left for a total of at least 5 minutes. Wash water is within 2°C of development temperature, so at least 18°C. I haven't seen any signs of deterioration of my films, but we're not talking about decades...

I used this test with the last film I processed and the first wash water became brown after adding the HT1 solution. The 3rd and 6th wash waters produced the same colour (magenta), I couldn't spot any difference. So, the questions are:

1) Is this a reliable test, at least for my method of washing?
2) Would it be reliable for FB prints?
3) How long does the solution keep?

Thanks in advance.

Hmmmm, not too sensitive then. Anyway, thanks for the link, I missed it.
