Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8300: BlackBerry9000/4.6.0.185 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

I use TMAX developer for maximum shadow detail. I have not used with HP5 but I have used it with Tri-X with great results.

Hrm. I've used Rodinal with Tri-X that high, but never tried it with HP5. You're going to get massive grain out of most things, and I can't guarantee that it would look good in Rodinal.

The Massive Development Chart would be a good place to start research: http://digitaltruth.com/devchart.html

Good luck, and don't forget to show results.

I don't know Emofin, but you get only get so much speed out of D-76 and Rodinal. I haven't pushed HP-5, but AI have pushed Tri-X to 6400 in Acufine. The results are ok; not great, but you do get a printable image, after all, you're asking the film to do something it wasn't designed to do.

You're looking at about 21 minutes for TX in Acufine at that speed. I suspect HP-5 would be similar.

If these are important shots, do a test roll.

Microphen 23 minutes @ 20ºC rotary processing for a diffused light source.

I wouldn't say it was great, as in shadow detail was non existent, but mid tones were very nice, highlights didn't blow out too much.

I also switched from glossy paper to Ilford MGIV Pearl surface, to drop the paper contrast a bit as well.

Thomas, not a problem.

I have just had a session in the darkroom and looked up my contact sheets of HP5 and HP5+ at 6400 ASA whilst I was there.

Don't expect miracles, this is really pushing the limits a bit beyond what the product is designed for.

Funnily enough the few rolls of HP5 seemed to be slightly better than the few rolls of HP5+. This is possibly because I was sort of new to the HP5+ product at the time and hadn't gotten myself into a good groove.

These films I did were under tungsten light and fluorescent light, and not too much light in a lot of areas.

Have you considered using Delta 3200 in either DDX or XTOL? Neopan 1600 is nice, too, but it's a stop slower than Delta 3200.

yesterday i developed the film. for 24 minutes in a jobo drum by hand.
there ist not very much silver on the film. taking the film out of the drum i thought " sh....."
now on the dry film it seems a littlebit better. i have to put it on the enlarger and make some enlargements (grade 4 or so).

analog greetings

ps maybe the metering with my old yashica is the problem.
