Newbie question but I've got a packet of Ilford MG RC paper and it's in a cardboard envelope of sorts. Is the paper directly inside that or is there something like a resealable black plastic bag in there too? I can't have a look in the light and I want to test my safelight so I can't just use that to have a look either.

The bag isn't resealable, but it does have a generous end flap, which you fold over.

The outer paper envelope and the inner black envelope/bag work together. The inner bag keeps the light out when the flap is closed, and the outer envelope helps keep that flap closed.

For that reason, it is important that you open the outer envelope carefully. If you rip it and it loses its ability to close tight, it won't do a good job of holding the inner bag closed.
