I'm the last holdout West River that still processes film and prints in the traditional manner. Most work now by hand and using a DoMac 18" paper processor. The d-Lab 2 is in hibernation, just put a new laser in it too. Got plenty of film and paper stock, used cameras and lenses. I started in 1977 with a 120 or 620 brownie box camera, had lots of fun but film processing got expensive. Back in Massachusetts, my dad and I bult a darkroom in a corner of the cellar and found little time for anything else. Got into camera repairing in the early "80s. Had a good run untill everything got all plastic and disposable. Shot lots of film just to be in my own little world printing. 16 years now in SD. I've got a nice motorcycle shop here in town and 2/3ds of my home is darkroom and getting back into camera repairs. I still have my 30 year old email address and check once a day. For those that dont like Juno email too bad, aint changin it. For the others that think one needs 10,000 posts to be credible, too bad. I was here as an Apug member years ago for years and only managed a few hunderd posts. Anywho..... Here I Is, glad to be back and let's hope this crazy polarized world can blend and get together like the TV commercials show.

Hi and welcome back to APUG.

Welcome back.

Welcome to APUG Photrio!!

Thanks for a warm welcome. I've set up shop just outside of Rapid City in a beautiful downtown New Underwood. I forgot to list my website, www.underwoodfilmandcamera.com. Not much to it now as I have to brush up on my html coding. I've been working closely with Bill Grothe at 1st Photo since I came out here. I did some of his darkroom work, machine maint and repairs and printed almost all of the large b&w and color prints. He's now retired, his building torn down to make a block sized coffee shop or something. I'm pretty much all thats left out here for traditional processing.

Hello from Texas!

great to see you made it back !
I love SD, spent some time in MURDO years ago ...
are they still documenting the homesteads on the side of the highway ?

I spent a lot of my growing up near Rochford, SD in the Black Hills. My aunt and uncle lived in Rapid City. That was back in the 50's, 60's and 70's. I am sure things have changed a lot.

Sorry, I don't know. My only time in Murdo was when I came out here. It was November, snowing and raining at the same time, the road was glazed and I called it quits. Stopped and spent the rest of the day and night in a motel there.

Times have changed in just the time I've been here. I should have moved 40 years ago, it must have been a real hoot.
