Hello,

I just formally registered, so I thought I'd formally introduce myself now as well. Randy here (my name, that is). I am originally from Oklahoma and have been in Houston TX for almost three years. I moved here for a masters degree in voice at the Univ of Houston and am staying against my better judgment. Actually I have just discovered a wonderful studio program in photography at the MFAH's Glassell School of Art. I completed my first course in May (basic darkroom) and hope to continue the coursework for as long as I can. I hadn't been in a darkroom since junior high, so this has been an incredible learning experience. I am definitely hooked. I have a Canon EOS-1, Mamiya C220 (a recent purchase; am having lots of fun learning to shoot MF), a Yashica Electro 35 GSN, and a silly Kiev knock-off of a Minox 35EL.

In real life I teach voice lessons and sing in various groups and venues, mainly classical solo and choral work. I'm in Santa Fe, NM most summer and Christmas seasons singing with the Santa Fe Desert Chorale, so look us up if you're coming out for any of the photo workshops, symposiums, etc.

Welcome, There is a large Texas Contingent in APUG.

I love to sing but they haven't yet built the bucket that I can carry a tune in so I'd better stick to the visual arts.

Randy, you should make Clay's acquaintance, an excellent photographer and an all around nice guy, ask him to show his pt/pd prints, absolutely beautiful!

A Big Philly Welcome By way of Stuttgart, Germany. I am also a drummer and the only notes I know are loud and louder. Enjoy the cozy atmosphere!

Welcome Randy...up the road a bit in Ft.Worth...can 2nd Jorge's suggestion to look up Clay. There are quite a few of us here..just had the workshop this past weekend.

Enjoy...

Hi Randy,

I hope you enjoy it here - I signed up a month ago and surely do, although it gets a bit political sometimes.

Take care

alien

Welcome, Randy. We won't hold the fact that you're from Texas against you.

Hello. Half of my relations live in texas, the other half are smart :D. Sorry had to say it.

I'll run away now. There are a lot of Texans here.

Hello from Oklahoma, where are you from in Ok? Nest time you're home visiting, if it's close to Tulsa, give a holler.

Hello from Sydney Australia. I love to sing for myself, I think it's good for the soul. But I wouldn't inflict my musical (lack of) talent onto anyone else...

Enjoy APUG.

Howdy -
I'm a bit west of you in Austin, an easy 3 hr (one-way) drive - I know that having done the round trip yesterday to pick up an enlarger. Hope to see some of your work in the gallery's soon!
Nathan
