I have a carl ziess lens on a rolleiflex sl35 and the lens is very hard to focus as the focusing ring is very slow and hard to turn. any way to remedy this?

The grease in the focusing helicoid has probably dried out. The lens will have to be partially disassembled. While this is not an involved task it is also easy to screw up. You should have the lens serviced.

hmm... how much would it cost to get it serviced? on average?

most lens jobs are somewhere between $75 and $125 depending on complexity and what is wrong. If you like the lens, get it done. I mean, a night out on the town costs more than that these days.
