After much too long a hiatus.......I'm back! Here's a link to 598.5 Square inches of gorgeous negative done in beautiful downtown Tonopah, NV.

The neg was made on 9.5 inch Aerial Recon Tri-X film with the #10 Cirkut camera. I had a stainless steel tray made that just fits in my 8 foot sink for developing the big film. No more streaks from un-even developing but of course a few other artifacts to prove we didn't do it with the D200!

On the big white building at the far right is a historic plaque behind the gentleman's head. In the original negative the lettering is quite readable. I am startled at how sharp the negative is. I used the Gundlach Turner Reich 10 1/2" #4. Not original to this camera, but the same as what it was originally sold with so it works well with the kit gearing. FUN!

Very cool, Jim! I've discovered since I've had the Noblex that swing lens negs are freakishly sharp. All the more so from a #10 Cirkut I'm sure.

My head is spinning from working on warping it around the the road is straight.

Thanks,
Steve

Excellent, and I love that you captured the same couple twice.

Apparently I need to do some more reading on Cirkut cameras.

Jim,

I especially like the fact the same couple is on both the far left AND far right of the photograph. I thought you said you didn't do this digitally

Wonderful image!

Great shot! I have been lusting for one of those old cameras for some time now. There has been an 8 inch Cirkut on fleabay recently, I just don't have that kind of money to spend right now. Even junk box Panorams are going for a premium, so I will probably have to keep the Cirkut on my wish list for a while.

What he said. :D

you guys have way too much fun out there isn the middle of no-where!

Fantastic results Jim (as usual). I like that some of the 'talent' dressed in period costume.

I wonder who worked out all the logistics?....and all of the back story.

Thank you for sharing. I look forward to more.

Congratulations- you are now Dauntless
Eight foot trays eh?
How you gonna print it ?
regards
Ed

Thanks for all the nice comments and wishes.

D-I-G-I-T-A-L-L-Y :surprised:

Printing these is where I'll draw the line in the sand. It's an entire hobby in itself! Who has the time?? I've got too much other stuff I want to accomplish.

Every year in High School we had the annual school photograph taken with a clockwork panoramic- all students and all faculty. We were arranged in tiers in a semi-circle on the rugby field and told to hold still. In the first year one of my classmates seated himself at one end and ran to the other, behind the benches, to get himself in the photo again at the other end! He did this every year - and got caned for it each time!!

BTW - great photo Jim.

Sounds like some people are gluttons for punishment!

Printing them is half the fun! It's not really that bad. Van dykes are particularly easy, as you only need two trays. You can get get away with one tray and buckets for silver prints, but two are easier.
Glad to see you using the 10

Wow.
