Hi Dan: I've tried most of the big box and smaller chain stores here in Toronto. Rona says they stock it but to check with individual stores and the ones within a reasonable travel time don't stock it but I'll try that website in your post. Thanks for tha.

According to the MSDS the Minwax stuff is acetone and methanol, presumably there must be something else in it, but they don't say. Unless you are treating a very large area, using something like CA glue should work well.

Thanks bdial for that info. The cameras that I am restoring all have different issues such that I don't think a one solution fits all will work. I'll just have to do it trial and error to see which of the methods mentioned here will work best with each camera.

Dan: I found out that this Minwax product is listed on the website of Rona Home and Garden but I've called most of the stores in the Toronto Area and none of them stock it and because they consider it a specialty product, they won't special order it for one person.

It's getting increasingly difficult to buy some products locally, I need veneer and the only place now is online. The same goes for small brass screw, I've bought them for years from a small local hardware store but they've not been replacing them as boxes run out. So we are forced to buy online.
