Sorry for two threads about my dumb ancient camera in one day, but now that I'm on the subject...
So on my good Argus, lenses screw in too far. I didn't notice until my Soligor 135mm came in the mail, since the Cintar 50mm doesn't really have anything to show you that it's out of position. Then I assumed it was a problem with the Soligor. Today I bought a Sandmar 35mm and completed the trifecta and sure enough, it screws in too far too. And it's definitely making infinity soft. It's less noticeable on the 50mm, and I'm sure even less noticeable on the 35mm, but it's enough to bother me.
Now, it hasn't damaged the shutter, but I can't understand how to fix this problem. Surely I can't put a washer-shaped cardstock shim in the lens mount--it would press on the protrusions from the individual shutter leaves and bend them. This is my favorite camera so I'd like to fix it...
